BOSTON'S YEAR - The Boston Celtics pulled off the greatest comeback in NBA Playoff history today. Not bad, eh? They trailed by 21 points entering the 4th quarter and then won the game by 4 points. I can't stand NBA Basketball anymore but this was one heck of a fun game to watch.
It's been a magical few months for the Boston sports fan (the Bruins aside - they were eliminated in the first round of the NHL playoffs when they were the no.1 seed). Adam Vinetari, Tom Brady and the Partoits fought the snow, the rulebook, the critics and a 17 point favorite, while the Red Soxs have soared to first place over the hated Yankees. I'd like to see the Celtics win it all, but the Red Soxs will likely have to deal with a strike or the second coming before they win a championship.

FREEDOM ANYONE? - "The role of government is not to create wealth."
Ayn Rand? John Locke? Milton Friedman? Ronald Reagan? None of them said it, though they would all agree. The above statement was uttered by Commander in Chief George W. Bush while answering questions from University students in Russia. Thank God for Bush. He understands liberty and capitalism and stating such truths in the former land of tyranny and communism is a flawless move.
Russia is a country on the edge of an abyss. The country is very much it's own enemy. The only thing that could save it is a completely free economy. Unfortunately lack of patience, mob demands, irrational politicians and sight over thought will likely prevent a free Russia from ever becoming a reality. Bush probably understands this and it's good that he is stating this to Putin and the Russian masses. But Putin looks at the masses and seems them suffering and they demand action, so what does Putin do? He acts. The government attempts to create solutions, to create wealth. The problem is that the government is the problem. I pray Bush can make Putin see this. Even if he does the people of Russia will never accept it.

APPROVED BY THE MPAA - Senor Weird, who likes live journel over the blogger, has found this rather interesting new Quiz. The point being to tell you how Jack Valenti and his goons would rate your lifestyle based on the ratings for motion pictures.
PG-13
Now we're getting somewhere - your actions are now past pre-teen level, and you're beginning to display some more mature content in your life
"Which Movie Classification Are You?" Test created by Jamie - take it here.
Looking at the test again it appears it's really not very effective since in order to be mature you need a R rating which requires lots of cursing and desires of mass homicide. On another note though, make sure to check out Senor's live journal. It's much more personal, as the title indicates, then a blog but Senor is an interesting writer. He's also very, very, very addicted to online tests...if you like those things then I insist you go to his website.

WHAT WILL WE DO WITH THE FRENCH - Crazy John Tabin advocates this site, which supports the paving of France. Not just it's roads mind you, but the entire country! It's not such a bad idea really. Why?
-- France is well positioned for parking access to the rest of Europe. The Germans have been known to use this position very effectively throughout the 20th century!
Where are you going to move the French? To Belgium
Right on! If only the United Nations would take up such sensible actions. Now, what do we do to get more parking at Ithaca College? Pave the music building!
Just kidding. :)

I SENSE A GREAT DISTURBANCE IN THE FORCE - I was checking out the new mulit-player game Star Wars Galaxies, which looks absolutely amazing, when I came across a very perculiar and thrilling link. The link took me to a posting on a message board that details the plot of Star Wars: Episode III. The author, a poster of the Game Winners forums, calms to know the entire plot summary for Episode III. I don't give much credenace to it, but if you read further in the forum you'll see that the author posted the plot for Episode II six months before it's release. He was very accurate in his summary (Maybe Gary Kurtz has gone nuts). If what he says of Episode III is true it sounds like an amazing ride.
I doubt though that it's very accurate. According to all reports George Lucas hasn't even written Episode III yet. Still we can assume that he has a summary for the events to take place. How the post's author could have possibly gotten a hold of it, I do not know. We will have to wait three years to find out. The author claims to have gotten his information from a website called Super Shadow. That site is a poorly mainted fan site and asks visitors for a fee of seven dollars to get the plot summary for Episode III. I don't know what to think of all this, but it is very interesting.
On another note I'm going to give up posting to my blog about Star Wars for now. I think I've become a little to obsessed with things (sigh). Can you tell?

SEEING RED - I don't often give credence to any kind of test that is designed to predict your future or tell you what kind of person you are. They are often arbitrary and too general to be effective. However I have discovered a rather convincing system called Colorgenics. Colorgenics is a scientifically created mood deriver that is based on a person's selection of different colors. According to the website it's all very scientific and changes based on a person's mood.
Now we all know that color is related to personality. We all have favorite colors and we associate certain colors with certain moods (i.e. Blue for sadness). It appears that the creators of Colorgenics have taken these associations and applied them scientifically. They have done a very convincing job. Every time I've chosen colors the resulting mood analyzer is very accurate to the way I'm feeling. I've also shown it to others who have found it very accurate. What do you think?

DO YOU NOT LIKE YOUR JOB? - Is your boss too hard on you or your co-workers not very friendly. I know I hate walking about in my shoes for 11 hours, my feet start to ache incredibly bad. But at least you are not removing the remains of the World Trade Center. It seems a lot of us have forget about this, but the millions of tons of collapsed building is still located in southern Manhatten. Today, New York Mayor Micheal Bloomberg announced that he anticpated the last of the wreckage to be removed on May 30th. He also stated that a brief ceremony would accompany the removal of the last pillar. You know what should also accompany it - a big thank you to all the people who worked day in and day out in that most terribly, hollowed of grounds to do a job that no one wanted, but everyone needed. Thank You.

TODAYS SIGN THAT THE END IS NEAR -
"He looked totally Latino," says Martina Guzman about Temuera Morrison, the actor who plays Jango (Fett) in "Attack of the Clones."
Does the fact that Morrison is from New Zealand matter at all? No, of course not! Remember these are liberals we are talking about. I will say this of liberals though, they are often good for a very nice laugh when they aren't coming up with new ways to restrict freedom. According to critics at the Detriot News, Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones is full of racial stereotypes. What they are the article really fails to articulate. This is not what these "critics" care about though, they just want to make a lot of noise. If liberals had any brains they would be praising Star Wars.
Consider that in the most recent Star Wars movie, Attack of the Clones, we have a very strong independent woman in Senator Amidala, a powerful black Jedi played by Sameul L. Jackson and our villian is a old, rich, white guy. In addition if anyone knows anything about the Star Wars Universe they would know that one of the themes of the plot is that the Galatic Empire controlled by the Emperor and Darth Vader hated and persucted Alien speices. They preferred only humans to serves in their armies and as their politicians. On the other hand The Republic, and later the Rebellion led my Luke and Leia Skywalker, embrace all alien spieces. It sounds rather black and white to me as to who the heroes and villains are.
The truth of the matter is that these critics will always find fault with any kind of culture. Their critizing of George Lucas and Star Wars is a result not of the films content but of it's amazing culture impact. It is not Star Wars that they want to critize but the culture that accepts them. Remember they hate Western Civilization and all it's achievements. Star Wars documents those advancements in a very biblical good vs. evil showdown which upsets people like these critics even more. The whole thing is really completely ridicilious, but good for laughs.

EVERY DOG HAS IT'S DAY, EVEN KNOWLES - I can't believe I'm saying it but the best review of Episode II that I've read so far is by Harry Knowles over at Ain't It Cool News.com. Reading Knowles is like reading a five year old who as had to much chocolate. He loves to CAPITILIAZE everything and uses so many exclamation points that it's like a bad episode of Seinfeld. However every now and then we all have a moment when we make sense and when Knowles is writing about Episode II he get it just right. I especially like this defense of the romance between Amidala and Anakin. I've watched the film four times now and the love scenes are not that bad. Perhaps it is just be, but I think they are completely effective. Like Knowles says these are to young people who don't know what love is and are both afraid of it and wishful of it at the sametime. The dialouge in these scenes isn't suppose to be Shakespeare. I can't say this any better then Knowles does, his review really says it all.
