SAVE THE FISHIES - "Everyone wants to get in everyone else's business but their own," Young said. "Leave me alone. Let me enjoy my fishing."

You see the problem for Mr. Young is that PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) wants to ban fishing in all U.S. state parks. For PETA letting some one live a free life is not in the cards. For them, the fish are more important. PETA has always been one of my favorite groups to shed some light on. These people are pure fascists. Mussolini would be proud. Feel, don't think

Of course there is some good that PETA does but as is nearly universally true about left-wing organizations, the real wackos are in charge. These are the people who think it's okay to burn down a research facility because it tests vaccines on animals. The kind of people who will enter a pricey NYC store and tarnish their leather products. I'm talking about the kind of people who do not believe in freedom and personal liberty. They have one worldview, and all others must fall before it. For PETA there can be only one morality, one way of treating animals and everyone must abide by this way and thinking and they will fight violently to protect it. Your everyday peaceful vegetation is just that; peaceful and respecting of others right to live their lives. For PETA that is not possible. For them, PETA is the religion. It is the Holy Grail for which all must be sacrificed...even the individual liberties of other.

On a personal note recent columns like this have made me feel, or at least write like, I’m becoming more and more of a liberation every day. What would Tabin or Sullivan say? Time to go pick up a copy of Liberty!

Thank you Ms. Dunst for bringing visitors to my site, not only are you beautiful and talented but you seem to have a lot of fans out there (some you might want to stay away from though due to their angle of interest in you). The cool thing here is that I use counters that allow me to know everyone, everyone who visits my website. So don't be a stranger. Drop me a line or IM and say hello, no hard feelings or ill-intent on my part, I promise. :)

INDEPENDENCE FACER - Those who read this site know that I am a big fan of the Facer and his various annotations of screenplays. Basically what this sarcastic bastard does is take screenplays and point out how silly and dumb they are. He does so with such fresh intelligence and humor that they are a pure joy to read. I just finished reading his annotation of the screenplay for Independence Day (which you can find at his newly redesigned website). He did the annotation back in 1996 before the film was released.

The Facer is really good with this sci-fi channel and Roland Emmerich/Dean Devlin are a rather inept screenwriting team (any obvious truth for anyone who watched ID4). The sad thing to consider is that just a three months ago I commented on news that Emmerich/Devlin where considering making a second Independence Day. (God help us.) In the three months since there has been increased Internet discussion of the the rumoured sequel and a 2nd ID4 now seems very possible.

Emmerich/Devlin should not be given money to make another film. Consider the total domestic gross of their last four films: ID4 - 300m, Godzilla - 136m, The Patriot - 113m, The Thirteenth Floor -11m, Eight Legged Freaks - 18m (est.). Do you see a pattern? Those numbers look like a once great baseball player watching his batting average drop quickly as he ages. Everybody knows Godzilla was a horrible film and a great BO disappointment. The Patriot was better quality but was actually a larger disappointment with Mel Gibson at the helm, a 110m dollar budget and the July 4th weekend behind them back in the summer of 2000. A movie studio would be nuts to invest in these Emmerich/Devlin again. If they need more reason to not desire an ID4 sequel then they must read Facer's annotation of the original.

AND I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IT -

I am a POET

I know that rhyming isnt everything, and I use my talent to explore my mind's deepest and often the most eccentric corners, instead of focusing on the bad like so many angsty teenagers. Oh, and girls (as well as femmy guys) really go for my poetry...

BILBO BAGGINS, GREATEST LITTLE HOBBIT OF THEM ALL - There are things in this world that just make you shake your head. Strange intersections of fate and concideince that appear beyond explanation. There are times when a mouth stands a gap and words are as hard to come by as water in the Sahara. There are things so strange, so peculiar that one comes across them they immediately think to themselves that that must share this with others...perhaps to validate the experience, perhaps to share.

Such an occurrence has happened to me. By friend Kevin Garafalo, perhaps for the above reasons, recently shared with me a link to this video of Leonard Nimoy (yes, that Leonard Nimoy) singing The Ballard of Bilbo Baggins of J.R.R. Tolkien fame. I cannot comprehend what I have just seen. You must see it for yourself. I do not know how or why this ever happened but the recording is there plan as day with a strange 1970's vide to the music video. Go, watch the video, please.

Well he fought with the goblins.
And he battled a troll
He riddled with Gollum
A magic ring he stole!
He was chased by wolves
lost in the forrest
escaped in a barrel from the Elf-King's Hall!
Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins, greatest little hobbit of them all!

BIGFOOT DID IT! - You want to know why a lot of people hate lawyers, then read this story. If you do so you'll find how Cary Stayner, who beheaded nature guide Jolie Armstrong in Yosemite in July of 1999 and is accussed of killing three other people in Feb. 1999, believes his obsession with Bigfoot is to blaim for his murderous actions. Apparently this guy was so obssessed with the mammoth hairy man...that he decided to kill people. Makes perfect sense right? Here's what defense "expert" Dr. Jose Arturo Silva also had to say:

(Silva told the jury)...Stayner was haunted by recurring images of floating heads and felt the teachings of 16th century French soothsayer Nostradamus applied to him.

This is the defense. I almost have to think this Stayner guy is crazy if he will actually allow his lawyers to put forth such a ludicrious idea. I love this little tidbit from the end of the story:

The testimony was interrupted when prosecutor George Williamson asked for a break because he was "brain dead."

At least not everybody at "Bigfoot's" trail is completely insane. What's next? Somebody sues the fast food industry because they got fat.......oh wait nevermind.
