THE NEW MOVIE DATABASE - Now here is a really cool idea for a site - it's the YMDb or "Your Movie Database." At the site you can make a list of your top twenty favorite films and share that lists with others. The site will show whose list's are closest to yours and can tell you how popular or unpopular a movie is (it does scare be that "Fight Club" is apparently the movie most often ranked #1). Apparently it works in some kind of assocaition with the real imdb.com as you can easily reach that site through the ymdb. It's a lot of fun to surf around on.

My list can be found HERE. This site is definitely one cool little tool on the net.

STREAMING MOVIE REVIEW - These movies dont' deserve full review (I think) so I'll just cover them in the quickest and easiest way I know possible - I'll type out what I think as soon as it pops into my head. It's called stream of conscience writing...enjoy!

Far From Heaven - Julianne Moore is good, real good. She should win the Oscar that she was denied when she had to bonk (which how they might say it this movie) Marky Mark on camera and on camera in Boogie Nights. I also liked the set design and costumes in this movie, give those good folks Oscars also.

Die Another Day - Fun I guess, didn't really see anything that was too new or too inventive. Why is it in the Bond movies the Bond villians are almost always more intruging then Bond and the Bond girl? I mean Mirando Frost was one sexy and skilled woman and I wanted to see more of her. Not more the way Russ Meyer might be thinking, if he was reading this, though that would be cool, but more of her character. The action sequences were fun, but Lee Tamaroki the director has a bad habit of speeding up his camera movements and he does it at the wrong time and it just distracts from the movie. Watch "The Matrix" Lee to learn how to use speeds when shooting actions sequences. Bronson is cool as Bond, he always is. Wins the day in the end.

Punch Drunk Love - Who knew Adam Sandler could act and act so amazingly well. I loved this movie. I wanted to wrap myself up in the lives of it's two led characters and never leave. I wanted to say a lot more about this film, to make a blog entry when I saw but time fell short and I had to work the whole holiday break through. It will make my Top 10 list though probably not top it as it's not as large in scope as P.T. Anderson's previous film, "Magnolia." I love the way he uses music in his movies, pure genius really. Sandler needs more of these kind of roles, he could take a lesson from his co-star Emily Watson, whose made a wonderful career taking such roles.

Treasure Planet - A fun movie, I think. It wasn't knock you socks off fantastic like "Toy Story" but it had some okay moments. A lot of it did stink though. Real disappointment as I was really looking forward to this one. Fun for kids who might like cool action and adventure, boring for those who have seen it before. Morph was super cool though. I want one of them. Anybody know where I can get one?

I'M NOT DEAD YET - It's been a few very busy days for me. I must have worked more then 50 hours from Tueday evening until late last night. Those five days are probably the busiest in the movie theater industry and I was there for what seemed like every moment of it. I even had to work a closing shift on Thanksgiving, which made it the first turkey day I did not get to spend at home with my family. It turned out to be a much more depressing experience then I anticipated. Eating cranberries from a jar and stuffing that's StuffTop is not quite the same as Mom makes it back home.

In much happier news though, the Moriarotiurm over at The Facer.net has ended (and their was much rejoicing). Also filmjerk has posted a review of The Two Towers due in theaters two weeks from tomorrow (tickets are on sale now and going fast!). It also appears that John spent the holiday watching Micheal Moore's Bowling for Columbine and informs us that a simple search at Instapundit will reveal the real truth of Moore's movie. I did the search and found a great article that takes the movie claim by claim.

And now for something completely different (are you sick of the Monty Python reference's yet?), have you checked out Film-Mogul today? Go ahead and it give it a looksee.

End ramblings.
